Excellent thinking. Power supply AND superweapon all in one.

In actuality, of course, it's not nearly that easy to create a volcano. But there might well be geothermal potential. Certainly a lot more than there is HERE in the geologically-mostly-dead Northeast.

Not in that area of the plate. That hot spot moved northwards and created Lassen and Shasta.
