Hm. I wouldn't think it's conflict-of-interest in YOUR case. I'd think virtually ALL wiki pages have been started and originally written by an expert in the field or a fan of the subject matter; I mean, does anyone go to start a (for instance) Anne Rice wiki entry (or more to the point, a Wiki entry on one of Anne's books) who isn't a fan of the work?

You're not an employee of mine, and you receive no benefit other than personal satisfaction for doing things like that for me, so I'd think you're in the clear on that, if you feel so inclined.

(TVTropes, of course, makes a point of the opposite, that they demand no significance and no requirements of references other than those needed to understand your post. I still feel too pompous to make entries on my own for, say "Crowning Moments of Awesome"; I know the moments in my books that *I* would characterize that way but making the entry would feel too much like saying "look how awesome *I* was to write this.)
