It is Hugo and Nebula nomination time...

... and for the first time in years I'm eligible. Not that I ever expect to get one or even be shortlisted, but it doesn't hurt to remind anyone out there who's eligible that they can nominate Hugo-eligible works online until March 26th. For those unfamiliar with the procedure, you have to have a Worldcon membership to vote in the Hugos; this does NOT mean you have to GO to Worldcon, but in this case specifically that you must either be a member of Aussiecon 4, or a member of Renovation as of 31 January 2011.

The Nebulas are not fan, but pro-awarded works (so only SFWA members reading need be pointing and laughing at me in this case) and are open through mid-February.

I of course have two eligible works: Grand Central Arena and Threshold, sequel to Boundary, both obviously in the novel category.

(No, I'm not nominating myself any more than I can bring myself to edit my own TVTropes or Wiki pages, even to modify/update incorrect info)

You have a TVTropes page? Cool.

Hwy, I'm glad you mentioned the 2 books you can be Nebula nom'd for. I actively enjoyed doing nominations until they changed the proceedure. I really loathe the new system.

I liked nom-ing when I read something with a simple email. I -really- appreciated seeing the nominated works in the Bulletin: it gave me a head's-up on what was new - and a few nominations from folks whose taste I respect frequently helped me decide on books to buy.

Going to a website to check on this is -so- not me. I barely visit the SFWA site as it is - and resentment does not make me want to visit it more. Plus, for some reason, late fall/winter drives thoughts of nominations out of my brain completely unless I get prompted - so I've been nominating a lot less.

I sent in 2 letters of protest when this was decreed and neither ever saw light in the Bulletin. Sighs. But I'll go do the noms tonight - and good luck!

hmm... As an eligable person to nominate for a Hugo (and vote on them too), I have read both of your books and I can put a nomination in.

Is a supporting Renovation membership enough to nominate?

have you seen this yet?

I already nominated and 2 of the books on this list are the ones I nominated. (Yes, GCA was one of the 2 I nominated and I hope you sell the sequel.)
