That said, I'd lead towards studying what the costs to me are of being turned, and if it didn't result in my being enslaved to another's will, I'd likely choose to become a vampire to guarantee me enough time to carry out my new life project - hunting down and eradicating who/whatever did this. My reaction to a lot of these sort of hypothetical situations tends to involve a new life goal of planning revenge on who or whatever forced me into a position where I had to make that choice.
