Loved B5, though I didn't catch up with it until the second season (and watched the first on video later). I loved the long story arc idea - though thought it a pity when JMS was forced to wrap up the main story arc at the end of Seaon 4 because he feared cancellation - and then got a fifth season which felt like an add-on extra. Still good, but post-main arc. The Londo / G'Kar story was fascinating and possibly the most moving of all, but the smaller stories within the greater ones were also good: the unfulfilled romance between Susan Ivanova and Marcus Cole; Garibaldi's struggles against his own shortcomings; Lennier's turn; Vir Cotto's steadfastness and his unexpected rise; Lyta Alexander's often turbulent life. (And i haven't even mentioned Sheriden and Delenn.) Even some of the one-off episodes were excellent: the one focusing on the two maintenance men and the one with 'King Arthur' spring to mind. Yes, great stuff, only equalled by Farscape and Battlestar Galactica and only bettered by Firefly.
Minor nit: You have "as fast as galaxies". I think you meant *vast*.
I was on the B5 newsgroup for a while, way back when.
This was notable for two things. One, annoying JMS by pointing out that the *air* in the station massed more than 2,500,000 tonnes, never mind the mass of the structure.
Also was one of the folks pointing out that mass drivers were nasty weapons.
