The Witches of Karres...

... one of my favorite SF books, is the subject of today's On My Shelves!

I loved the Witches of Karres! I'll have to give the sequels a try.

The lack of sequels by Schmitz is worse than you think. According to something I read decades back he was quite a ways into a sequel, but the manuscript got lost during a move and he could bring himself to redo all that work (an attitude I completely understand, having had a chapter of something eaten by a conflict between synch software and versions on two different machines)

...not really. The sequels in your head are probably much cooler than what has been put in print.

I'd heard the same thing. And I enjoyed "Wizard of Karres", though not so much "Sorceress of Karres".

Of his other books, I enjoyed the Telzey stories the most, best of a great group.
