no, but my boyfriend was sent a copy of it, and said "What the hell is Royalton doing on Forbes? Liz, what is Forbes Magazine?" because, you see, all he cares about is anime and watches. or maybe that's watches and anime? oh, and LARP.

seriously, i am going to marry a guy who doesn't know what Forbes is! that thought has been making me giggle for a couple of days :D

Well, I admit I don't really know what Forbes is myself. Is it just a magazine? Until a few years ago, I didn't even know that. It's the sort of thing that has absolutely no relevance to anything I do. I only happened to notice it because it was about videogames and I saw it while in a store.

I actually meant a picture of the Forbes cover that makes Kotick look like Royalton; I figure if I wanted to I could find a pic of Royalton pretty easy. Such as this one. But so far the only pic of the Forbes cover I could find was TINY.

sorry, you don't have the reference points for my funny :( i forget that not everyone on LJ knows me knows me. its very easy to forget...

anyway, the reason it is funny to me is because my two younger sisters are very...erm, how to be delicate? we were VERYVERY poor as children, and so they both worked very hard to find "good" husbands, ie husbands who make a lot of money. and they mock me incessently because i am still poor. but, and this is a very big but for me, i am poor with a poor guy who doesn't expect or even WANT a "perfect wife". he wants me. he doesn't care about money except inasfar as it pays the bills and gets him anime. i go to family dinners, all i hear are my sisters talking about theirs husbands stock and etc (my OTHER sister is a geek like me, and married a geek like us, so its not totally horrid) and while they like Pete, they don't understand. to them, the important thing is the big house with the two car garage and all the options. so it amuses me whenever Pete does something that points up how NOT about money he is.

(and i'm the OLDEST.)

thats all it was. just a moment of sisterly-rivalry. sorry.

(Forbes is a bigbig business, the magazine is a side. thier main business seemes to be rating other businesses. but i go out of my way to not know more)

Heh. Well, in a cruel and evil way I suppose it could have been amusing THIS Christmas, given that talking about stocks would almost universally have been "crash and burn".

Yeah, I don't really care about money either, which makes it annoying when I actually HAVE to. My reason for wanting to be rich is so that I can just have all that bill-paying stuff done by someone else.

and, i was nice. not a word passed my lips about any of it. i had a lot more that i typed, but decided to stop babbling at you. suffice it to say you have pegged the sibling rivalry correctly, and my one sister and i DID have the cruel and evil amusment at Xmas dinner, but we were very nice about it.
