... for my friend, editor, co-author and gadfly the Butcher of Baen, Eric Flint. I wasn't sure if I should say anything, but since bigbananaslug spilled the beans, Eric is having (or maybe has had -- I thought it was on the 30th, but Bananaslug said "today") heart surgery for four blockages that they found last week.

My dad did that 2 years ago. It was not a pleasant experience, but he came through it okay, and was his normal surly self in no time. I hope Eric comes out okay.

ohohohohoh. please update if you have info? is it over on the Baen Bar (i get sucked into the Bar when i have to write papers, so i shouldn't go, but if someone is giving updates i *will* go and screw the paper)

i met Eric at marcon. he is the neatest coolest most wonderfulest guy i have ever met. if he wasn't married and i didn't have a boyfriend, i would have been *all over* him just for the conversation and spoilers.

My father (in his seventies) had a quadruple bypass a few years back. Apparently THE. MOST. IMPORTANT. FACTOR. in getting your life back is doing the cardiac rehab religiously. The overpaid man with the cutty-knives can only start the process.

I didn't know he was on facebook, and there appear to be a lot of "eric flint"s on Facebook -- and it wants me to register with Facebook just to see them.

Alas, no. I found out about it during a phone call I had with him last week, and obviously I'm not going to try calling his house just for updates.
