Barbara Hambly E-stories available!

Barbara Hambly has been one of my favorite fantasy authors for years, starting with the "Oh, that CAN'T be an accurate cover!.... holy sheep, it IS accurate!" version of "The Time of the Dark".

So now she's testing the electronic waters and making some stories (including one specifically written for the experiment) available online.

I highly recommend her work; go check it out.

Ooooh, I love her work, too. Thanks for the link!

I have the series -- it's totally a keeper. Maybe I'll add this to my reread pile.

I got pointed at that by listening to a filk about it and noticing that the liner notes listed what story it was based on.

I found out about Barbara Hambly back when the Darwath trilogy was just about all she had published; I've been following her avidly ever since. I even wrote up the "Novels of Barbary Hambly" post back when rec.arts.sf.written was doing the "Novels of..." thing. (That was 2002, so it's somewhat dated now.)

I'll admit that I've given the Benjamin January books a miss, though.

Oh, do try them; they're worth the read. Not up to Antryg and Joanna, but then, what is?

Bride of the Rat God is my absolute favorite of hers; followed closely by Dragonsbane. Although not the follow-on trilogy to that one.
