Yes well Agatha just needed a good reason to focus. Her mother may have plans but always struck me as less strong willed than Agatha actually. And this time Agatha knew what was going to happen so she must have been lurking in the back of their mind. Still.
I think we can extract a series of lessons from the events so far:
1) You do not get in the way of a spark. 2) You particularly do not get in the way of a spark who is also a Heterodyne. 2a) Think twice about Wulfenbachs, too. 3) But you most especially ten-times-ten do not EVER get in the way of a spark who is also a Heterodyne who is also Agatha.
