LiveJournal: Criminals?

rosefox's page here to see that LJ has decided to begin a particularly sleazy practice. Among other things, it takes links such as referral links to Amazon and CHANGES THEM TO BE REFERRALS FROM LJ or its associates.
This strikes me as a criminal act; when someone clicks on a link that I've made which is using a referral code for which Amazon will be paying me, and substitute your own, this would seem to me to be precisely identical to intercepting a payment from a credit card to store X and redirecting it to go to your store, Y.
