... but she is Evil.

She has been generally keeping Kathy up most nights (or rather, waking her up at short intervals, which can be worse), and then insisting on waking up and STAYING up (with the expedient to alert us to this of making Cute Baby Babbling and sitting on someone's head) at somewhere around 6:30 to 7 REGARDLESS of her actual prior bedtime, etc.

When I don't have to go to work and I'm still recovering from being sick, I'd like to sleep in, thanks very much. So would Kathy. But the Evil Little Girl has other plans.

Ever since I've become an author, and as I've gotten more kids, my reading has fallen off to the point that I'm hardly reading anything not work related (or little kid's books at bedtime).

I simply don't have the time to read the way I used to. But I should read SOME recent books, and I think I have an interesting way to do it.

In 2011, I will read at least one book by all the published SF/F authors I have a strong connection with who have published anything since 2003.

Here "published" is meant in the traditional sense described in r.a.sf.c, which basically boils down to: the publisher paid the author an advance, printed  the book, did some level of initial publicity, and distributed the printed version throughout the USA in the major bookstores as well as Amazon, etc.

And "SF/F" pretty much covers the gamut of "speculative fiction"; so what's out would be mundane thrillers, mysteries, romances, and "mainstream lit"; With respect to Alt-Hist, there has to be a real game-changer involved, not just a straight extrapolation of What Would Happen if General X Won or something like that.

For this resolution I am *NOT* limiting myself to books I think I would necessarily enjoy, although obviously I'd prefer to enjoy them at the same time as fulfilling my resolution; it's possible that some

So for the authors on my LJ, this is your chance to suggest which book of yours you either would want me to read, or would think I would most enjoy.
