Post About Writing and not Ranting!
Feb. 7th, 2025 12:01 pmFenrir is going to be released in early June! My last collaboration with Eric Flint, Fenrir is a (mostly) hard-SF first-contact novel in a completely new universe the two of us were working on up until the time Eric passed. The Arenaverse series -- Grand Central Arena, Spheres of Influence, Challenges of the Deeps, and Shadows of Hyperion -- is being re-released by Histria Books. GCA itself is already out, Spheres comes out in a week and a half, and then Challenges and Shadows will follow.

(have to tell them they've misspelled "Hyperion" in the fourth book)
The first book in the Spirit Warriors trilogy is already out, Choosing the Players, and the second two -- Move and Countermove and Master of the Game -- should come out this year.

The entire Demons of the Past trilogy (Revelation, Revolution, Retribution) is also out, although right now the entries all show the cover for Retribution, the third book, so I'll have to do an inquiry for THAT also.
Expect to see my other backlist -- Godswar (The Mask of Ares and The Spear of Athena), Legend, Paradigms Lost, all come back available soon.
The Balanced Sword trilogy (Phoenix Rising, Phoenix in Shadow, Phoenix Ascendant) needs new covers but once I have those it can be reissued.
I have also just completed Wanderer, or I'm In My Own World, Why Aren't I God?, a story I wasn't even sure I'd ever write a few years back. It turned out to be a doorstopper of a novel somewhere over 170k words, the longest single story I've written.
I'm in the middle of writing Light of Reason -- the next Jason Wood book -- and I recently finished the second adventure in the book, "Burnout".
In addition, I'm in the middle of a rather different kind of story, one that's closer to the "cozy" fantasy genre (exemplified by Legends and Lattes) than to most of my other books, this one titled The Impractical Quest and focused on the life of a young bilarel (ogre-type creatures native to Zarathan) who wants to be a wizard, not a warrior.
That sort of gives an overview of where I am in my writing career at the moment!
