The financial aspect is AGAINST the death penalty in the US justice system. Due to the lengthy appeals process in capital cases, it is significantly CHEAPER to keep them in prison for life than to execute them.

Yes, I know, which is exactly what I said above. You say it as though I was arguing against that position.
