I had already deduced from observation that it appeared to be either random or just using simplistic keyword (or lack-of-keyword) algorithms, so I went no farther. Making Light went farther and discovered that it's just bait for a vanity press masquerading as a real publisher.

So if you can, go back and either delete your I Write Like posts, or at least edit the links so they're getting nothing -- no hits, no referrals, etc. -- from you.

Somehow I'm not surprised.

Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't do the meme, but I know quite a few who did.

I'd have expected you to look a little deeper.

Absolutewrite accepts ads from iUniverse. Does that mean Absolutewrite is a scam?

That's *not* what Making Light said.

[edit: Sorry, my mistake. This is a new Making Light post, not the one I was thinking of.]

[edit: Although on a quick skim, the comment thread appears to modify the conclusion to "it's not a scam, its creator just has poor discrimination in appropriate sources of advertising revenue" - which is what the old thread said, too.]
