... apparently the author is actually an AI and rational thinking expert and the fic has a purpose, for teaching methods of rational thinking.

This does explain a number of the Slightly Off aspects of the fic -- it has that Atlas Shrugged vibe to it, but is unfortunately overlaid on the Potterverse so it doesn't have the unity of purpose that Atlas Shrugged has.

I'm informed that Harry v2.0 doesn't become more likeable as time goes on, alas. I would have liked to have read the actual fic that would come from those basic assumptions but that didn't have an axe to grind OTHER than that basic question.

It would be even better if you could stop that sentence -- right there -- yes.

... apparently the author is actually an AI

The way I read it was that rhe author was an AI that was also a rational thinking expert. I was like WTF??? When did we get AI that smart???

Ah. So it is a teaching tale that is a bit heavy-handed.

Question: What's with the icon?

Hm. Looks like I'm not going to be continuing it after all...

Now you've done it...

My mind immediately threw up an idea (which I don't *remotely* have the skill to handle):

CSI: Hogwarts

Rule 34. It's been done. Google finds at least 2.

Also, CSI / Urban Fantasy has recently been published. Author is... Laura Gilman, I think.

I've read up to date, and it looks like we're set for the usual problems you get with High Intelligence, Low Wisdom, Much Theoretical Knowledge, No Experimental Experience and a well stocked laboratory... I guess he survives because the author wants him to. :)

Cue "Don't Push That Button" by Duane Elms.

"I'm informed that Harry v2.0 doesn't become more likeable as time goes on, alas."

Well, he couldn't get *much* more likeable, since he's already in the top 1% of likeable characters in fiction-I've-read. :)
