iPhone Experts... help?

So I plug in my phone and it goes through its updates a while ago.

And everything works.

Except one thing.

It keeps asking me for the "password" to my voicemail.

I have no idea if ever set such a password, or if I did, what it was. It's been years since I first set that up.

What happened, and how do I get my password back?

Honestly, I don't know what my voice mail password is either. AT&T could help, though.

AT&T's default is the last four digits of your phone number if you didn't set anything else.

If you can't get in - call 611 and they can reset it to the last four of your phone number.

After buying their mac mini I'm wary of any apple products. Their stupid admin security password has driven me crazy every time I want to download something. Their word file texts are inconsistent and I have to convert three times and end up with three files for one doc. with the same name. Their how toos sound like how to build a mac instead of operate one written by a programmer instead of a writer or writer/programmer.

Argh!

I'm not clear what you mean about "word file text inconsistent" and converting three times. I do all my writing on my Mac and send it to people who use PCs and it works fine.

Problem is solved, per Rugor's suggestion and the iPhone's own prompts; I had to have the password reset, but it turned out to be easy to do.

When I click on the doc to open it wants to know what to use to open it with rather than do it automatically. Sometimes I have to open nisus software because the "other choices" to open doc with isn't in the pull down menu. I never had this problem with my power mac.


I think I got a lemon mac mini.

Well, if you control-click on the document, it should give you a choice of "Open with..." and then if you choose "other", it will give you a full choice window which will include the "always open with" option.

You can also do this by clicking once on the document and then, in Finder under File, choosing "get info". In that window there's "open with" and there's a choice which lets you select "use this application to open all files like this".

Yes. Thanks for the help. I figured that out. I use right click to open it and then it gives me the choices for some reason it says text or applications or something. It's at home. I'm at work so I can't see it right now.

So I click into apps and it's blank. So I have to go into finder, open it and open nisus. Once nisus is open then the pull down menu gives me nisus as and option. that drives me to distraction that I have to do it every time.

Then I'd have the doc that came over as text or or plain text or whatever and then the rtf doc and sometimes another doc in the same name so I'll save as Title in mswrd 1, title text 2 and title rtf 3 but I'll invariably send the wrong dang doc to the editor. So I instead of using the title of the story I completely change the one in the proper format, usually rtf or give it Version Title 900999 rtf so I know I have the right doc..

It's mortifying sending the wrong one.

Well, it's odd -- as in, odd enough to warrant bringing the thing back to be looked at -- if you have to keep doing that EVERY TIME if you followed my directions and made sure that you had "use this to open all files like this" checked. Once you've done that the program should be opening all .doc or .rtf or whatever the type of file was with whatever program you selected.

If it DOESN'T do that there's something definitely wrong.

I'll follow your instructions and see if it works. It's mac os x 10.4 and the original drive is gone. Tech support couldn't restore the old drive when it crashed but I keep my writing on my sony offline so I only lost submissions docs.

It's a really old machine. I think seven yrs. No sense in returning it. I preferred the power mac because I could pop it open and install memory. I like to be able to fix, install, operate with ease. I almost broke the mac mini trying to open the darn thing.
