Date: 2010-08-12 11:19 am (UTC)It's a very appropriate title, as "Paradigm" is worldview, and Jason's is progressively destroyed in the series and replaced with new ones, more than once.
The changes would be:
1) Smooth out the joins and the writing. Some of the sections of DK were written as long ago as the '80s, others in 2002. My writing has vastly improved in many areas since the 1980s, and DK also still has sections that make it obvious that it's assembled from multiple stories rather than being a coherent narrative.
2) Get rid of inconsistencies and unify the timeline. Again, because of the time that passed between writing various parts, there are inconsistencies in the setting timeline, and there are things that developed in the universe in the 20 years since that SHOULD have had some prior indications (even if very subtle) which are not present. For instance (for those on the beta-list) there should have been at least one indication of a certain wearer of a certain peculiar piece of headgear.
3) Add more stuff for the potential repurchaser. This isn't "fluffing it out with background", it's "add in the two other Jason Wood stories that are already written and integrate them with the others", namely putting "Shadow of Fear" and "Trial Run" into Paradigms Lost so that anyone buying it isn't just buying the same story (even if somewhat tweaked and updated) twice.
