I love our baby, but sometimes she's evil. Or sick, in this case; ear infection and the antibiotics hadn't yet started to work, so last night she kept Kathy up and every time Kathy tried to even ease her down she'd scream, so I didn't get much sleep either. BLAARGH!

I'm ZOMBIE mommy. I can barely function right now, due to exhaustion mind you and on top of that my body is starting to ache like it did the other day. apparently no rest makes my potential rumitoid/fibermaliga flare.

Anyway she's napping so I can dedog the house for Shana's brief visit.

Two tips, via my parents, who had to contend with far too many ear infections when I was small:

Nasal drops or spray - simple saline ones suited for babies is fine

A bit of cotton with olive oil placed shallowly in the ear can also help

if kathy put the baby in a sling, and then reclined in a recliner, would the baby be happy with that, enough that both of them could sleep, and you could too? and if you guys don't have a sling that would be comfy for that, a light weight sheet tucked into the sides of the chair would probably work.

and put some warm compresses on babys ear, that might help with the comfort factor. i wanted mine hot, but for a baby, warm should be enough.

I hope it goes away quickly. Ear infections are nasty, I was in hospital for a week once when Alby was smaller, due to an ear infection.
Ah, the joy of babies :D
