This is not a surprise, what with Albany being the capital of New York and the Watervliet Arsenal being right across the river. Add in some other effects from likely attempts to get rid of the G.E. turbine manufacturing site AND the Knolls Atomic Power Lab, we're looking at lots o' megatons here.

Nifty. My home town (Fremont, CA) would only get devastated (8/10), but if I was at work (Sunnyvale, CA), I'd be destroyed (10/10), even though the Air Force just closed Onizuka AFB.

Interesting. My city and Fort Worth are both 8/10; we've a NAS/JRB and Lockheed Martin assembly plant. Dallas and Houston were only 7/10. For kicks I did Somervell County, site of the Comanche Peak nuclear power plant: 6/10. Austin, the capital, was 8/10 as well. The Skunk Works was only 4/10, so clearly not a target. Even Dayton and Ogden (Utah) were "only" 6/10.

Yeah, Richardson TX is also 8/10. Looking at the maps, it appears the closest target is in Garland (the power plant?), with another somewhere near Denton. But nothing worth bombing in Dallas itself nor DFW Airport.

It's important to know the goals of the scenario:

In the year 2017 the intelligent computer system dubbed "PieNet" is put in charge of all strategic resources related to the production of pies and pastries.

In the wake of the pumpkin blight of June 2019 and the nutmeg riots the following September, PieNet determines that the ingredients for US strategic pumpkin pie reserves are at dangerously low levels. With Thanksgiving in just two months, this is unacceptable. PieNet's solution is bold, yet stupid: reduce the US population to a level where current reserves are sufficient.

To accomplish this goal, PieNet activates the US nuclear arsenal (she got the codes from her boyfriend WOPR), and fires 300 one megaton nuclear warheads at US targets. New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and many others receive the full measure of her pie-fueled nuclear apocalypse.

Strategic targets, smategic targets. It's how many pie-eaters are in your zipcode that makes you get toasty.
