Been trying to post to my Beta list; still not working. Let's see if this posts. I hate whoever was doing the DDoS and if they'd be kind enough to show up anywhere around here I have a sledgehammer, several swords, axes, scythes, and a machete to introduce them to.

No kidding!

Today the AT&T service guy came out - and stayed 4 hours. He fixed our dsl line, replaced the modem, the plug in adaptor to the wall, several fixes in the condo box and then some repairs to the main box a block away.

This would have taken 1-2 hours less, but he couldn't get thru to his main service webpage to run tests for 10-20 minutes at a time - and got a loud 'fast busy' signal when he tried calling them [I could hear it 10' away from his earpiece ... that he started holding at arm's distance when he dialed out].

On the -good- side, he was a great guy and it looks like he fixed all the line problems.

All day I've been trying to get in and see if I could post and I would get as far as entering my password and then nothing. :p

I would volunteer to help swing that sledge at the person or persons running the DDoS... :p

"No idea, sir. Near as we can tell a huge number of simultaneoius lightning bolts hit the phone lines of the perps. All their computers were fried. Except, for some reason, the hard drives were intact."

"Lightning bolts."

"Yes, sir. Out of a clear sky in some cases."

"And the only damage was the computers?"

"We'll all the perps are paralyzed, currently. Though I hear the docs say they'll be ok in a week or two."

Somewhere a technomage's evil laughter can be heard.

The rumour going around is that it's essentially Chernobog, so I'd recommend duodec.

"Something humorous and lingering such as boiling oil or melted lead."

"...well, it's so old it doesn't have a name, but essentially it turns the marrow of their bones to molten lead."
