Today in 1969...

Human beings landed on the moon for the first time.

However, it should be noted that man did not step FOOT on the moon until early in the morning of July 21st. Neil Armstrong gave me the finest possible birthday present that day.

Coincidentally, or maybe not, today is also the 42nd anniversary of my first memory...of my father waking me up to watch a grainy black and white image of a man stepping off a ladder.
