Strange Thunderbird behavior...

I use Thunderbird for my News client. Lately it's taken to popping up a box while I'm in the middle of reading news, and the box is mostly unreadable, apparently because the text is white and the background is white. I think I managed to read some lines that said "life of a mail client survey"? And had checkboxes, and a button for "submit". I've been closing it with the typical "X" icon in the corner, but I really have no idea what the heck's going on.

(note: this is on a Mac, not a PC, so anything having to do with Windows, etc., wouldn't apply)

There's a virus/trojan going on in Macs right now. It infects Java, so if Thunderbird uses that it might be related. Search on 'mac flashback trojan' for more info.

I don't use T-Bird for news but I do use it for mail and I haven't seen anything of the sort. But I have it set to minimal display (plain text, don't run scripts, etc). I also have the Test Pilot extension disabled. Try shutting it off.

If you are interested in another news client; I use MT-NewsWatcher, admittedly I tend to other means then news servers for most things but I find it works for me.
