I didn't read yours specifically because I want to read Phoenix Rising first. (And I just (finally) got my copy of Grand Central Arena but it's a few books down the pile yet.)

Well, while the one character shows up in Phoenix Rising, all reading this section would do is give you a bit more background on who he is; it takes place roughly in parallel with events in Phoenix Rising and doesn't intersect with them until quite a ways on.

Circumstances have changed; ebooks have made such inroads that reading pro fiction online seems almost quaint. I had planned to skip IPST Day this year, but at the last minute I changed my mind and threw something up there.

But yes, I think it's dying.
