Hey, I got a mention in Publisher's Weekly!

In [livejournal.com profile] rosefox' article "Crossing the Streams"! It's a short mention, but hey, it's PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY. :) (and now publicly viewable; I knew it existed earlier but couldn't see it)

EDIT TO ADD: What's really amusing is that Phoenix Rising is fairly cross-genre itself; among other things, one of the characters who plays a significant role in the book is a native of Earth who is carrying a portable gaming system (as part of the small number of things he brought with him when dragged off unceremoniously)... which he demonstrates to a couple of the main characters, who are fascinated by it.

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] rosefox!

Arguably, Digital Knight was your first fantasy novel. :-)

But I can see how they'd class it as SF.

Wait 'til folks find out that Phoenix Rising is (arguably) SF. :-)

Of course, that's a few books down the line.

You've heard Charles Stross's quip about his books and genres? "My science fiction is marketed as fantasy, my fantasy is marketed as horror, and my horror is marketed as science fiction."
