EDIT TO ADD: What's really amusing is that Phoenix Rising is fairly cross-genre itself; among other things, one of the characters who plays a significant role in the book is a native of Earth who is carrying a portable gaming system (as part of the small number of things he brought with him when dragged off unceremoniously)... which he demonstrates to a couple of the main characters, who are fascinated by it.

Date: 2012-10-02 05:02 pm (UTC)I find it amusing that the "mainstream" sees genre-bending and -blending as something new. It's something that speculative and science fiction authors have been doing for as long as they've been writing speculative and science fiction. :)
