What I found bothersome about the first movie has nothing to do with the movie itself. I haven't seen it and I have no intentions of seeing it. That's the bothersome point. For all the hype about the high frame rate version, which is what I wanted to see, it was only as a flat 3D projection, which I don't want. Left me stuck. And again with "Smaug", the high frame rate version is only 3D. Leaves me stuck, again. I do want HFR cinematography to catch on but I want flat 3D to die in a fire, repeatedly.
I don't know if I saw high-frame-rate or not. I like 3D, myself, but if I didn't like it or I'm going with someone who doesn't, there's always regular 2-D.
