I love the way this explicitly sets up the battles later but in a way that doesn't telegraph the "big secret" yet still has the reader going "Doh! *Of course* he had that in minds all alomg!"
Yeah, this one was a delicate bit to write. I HAVE to foreshadow what and how that's going to go so it's fair, but I don't want to give it all away so there's no surprise, either.
