Looking for guest posters...
Nov. 24th, 2015 09:51 pm... for my blog at http://www.grandcentralarena.com . Authors, artists, reviewers, etc. are welcome. If desired I could probably put together interview questions for anyone who wanted to do an on-site interview.
This is mainly to keep some semblance of activity there for a few weeks while I deal with personal family issues (my father in law is not well, and Kathy's having health issues again) and try to bring Challenges of the Deeps closer to a conclusion.
Anyone interested reply to this post, or email me directly at seawasp [at] sgeinc [dot] com.

Date: 2015-11-29 08:09 pm (UTC)1) Virigar, the Werewolf King. The monster other monsters are afraid of, Virigar in his natural form stands about 9 feet tall, possibly stretching to 10 feet if he straightened the natural bending of his legs. A Great Werewolf is a semi-humanoid monstrosity, standing on two legs which bend differently than humans, somewhat like a dog's leg, with two arms that are longer than a proportional human's. The body is covered with dense, shaggy black-brown hair and is very powerfully built. On the hands and feet are long diamond claws, slightly curved and very sharp both at the points and along the inside (downward, for feet) edges, each claw measuring about eight to ten inches long. The head is the worst part of the creature, for while very vaguely wolflike it is really not much like any normal living creature. Dominating the head is a huge mouth which can be opened almost 180 degrees, more than enough to literally bisect a human being caught in that bite. The mouth is filled with close-set, razor-sharp, extremely long (6 inches or more) fangs. The shapeshifting characteristic of the creature is most eerily obvious when the Great Wolf speaks, because the diamond-hard fangs SHIFT LENGTH fluidly to effectively allow the creature to talk clearly even in this inhuman form. The eyes do not have pupils or irises, but are instead pure glows of light that shift in color depending on the creature's mood; default color is a poisonous yellow.
2) Doctor Relgof Nov'Ne Knarph, Leader of the Faction of the Analytic: Doctor Rel is a member of the species named Wagamia, and is also visually something of an in-joke; he is an alien-looking version of Doctor Franken Von Fogler/Vogler from _Giant Robo: The Day The Earth Stood Still_. A picture of that character can be found at this link and of course a search for "Franken Von Vogler" would find several more.
For the alien version, Doctor Rel is envisioned as being a bipedal descendant of a filter-feeding species. The "hair" on top is a sort of floppy feather-hair crest that tends to swoop over one eye, while the "beard" is a mobile, multi-layered filter of feathery baleen which can be positioned over the mouth by sort of thin bony fingerlike projections that run up the cheeks to the sideburn area. Normally these hang loosely and the filter has the appearance of a beard, but when brought up the "beard" is expanded to cover the mouth all the way to the nose/beak region and can in this position filter water drawn through the mouth and expelled through a normally-closed orifice farther down the neck, or simply expelled from the mouth when the beard is dropped.
Relgof's face is semi-humanoid otherwise, with large round eyes and a beaky nose-like projection (which may or may not actually be a nose). His mouth is somewhat wider than a normal human's, and if open would exhibit several rows of small grinding and shearing teeth. His arms and legs are jointed in a similar way to those of humans, but his hands have six fingers in opposable pairs rather than our five fingers with a principal opposing thumb for all four fingers.
Let me know if you need more info!

Date: 2015-12-02 09:24 am (UTC)Do you imagine the eyes as largish, smallish or mediumish in proportion to his head?
When he's in his natural form what are his hands like? More or less human like, only hairy with dirty great claws?
