Our local bookstore owner and miracle worker Maria of Flights of Fantasy ( www.fof.net ) thinks she can get me a case of Mountain Magic just in time for me to bring 'em to Worldcon. If so, I'll be selling 'em and signing 'em!

... that's an odd way to put it, as it sounds like I got to collaborate with Kuttner, which I think would be physically impossible.

It's a collection featuring Drake's "Old Nathan" stories (which Eric and I think may be some of the best stuff Drake's ever written), Kuttner's "Hogben Family" stories, and our 40k+ word mini-novel "Diamonds Are Forever". As I mentioned elsewhere, it's mostly my work; Eric came up with the basic concept that starts the story and the setting, and I ran with it from there. He then tweaked a few bits and it was done. Very fun to write, and I think even more fun to read.

Yeah, I'd love to see the seance that you manged if you did work with Kuttner. :D Though I'd think you'd want C.L.Moore in that case, too.

Seriously, I agree with you & Eric about the "Old Nathan" stories; I love them and treasure the paperback collection. I remember and love the "Hogben Family" stories and what I've read on Dahak of "Diamonds are Forever" makes me want the whole book.

Well, of course I'd want Moore in on it if Kuttner dropped by, but both seem equally out of reach.

(of course, if you want Diamonds, you CAN get it for free. The "sample chapters" of Mountain Magic, as it turns out, happen to be ALL of "Diamonds Are Forever".)
