The Voice of the World is silent.

Walter Cronkite has passed away. The first Great Icon of my childhood, the man who defined "Newscaster" and was the man whose word was as absolutely trusted as any human being in living memory, is gone.

I salute him. I have no other words which could convey the man's contributions or character.
