... according to his Facebook page, his wife passed away, completely unexpectedly, today. I can imagine it, barely, and it's a heartrending thought. Walt's (known on LJ as

bigbananaslug) one of Baen's biggest boosters and a hell of a guy, and this will hit him and everyone who knows him very hard indeed. Send all the good thoughts you can to him and his family.

EDIT: Some posts by other people made me aware it might have been a faux pas to post this, but it's too late to take it down, and Walt's done his own post now on it. No one ever said I was socially clueful.
