Not going home yet; my red blood cell count has dropped significantly. The harmless (and most likely) explanation is that I was mildly dehydrated when I went in and my first blood sample drawn, but the alternatives are nasty enough to warrant another night here.
On the positive side I am feeling better, though far from 100%, and I'm eating real food again.
I wish to report that hospital food, at least here at Memorial, has vastly improved. I just had a quite acceptably prepared glazed ham slice, peas and carrots, whipped potatoes (yes, reconstituted, but nicely done) and one of the best apple crisps I've ever tasted.
Alas, no real Internet (this is from my iPhone) as whoever set up their network apparently couldn't be bothered to follow standard practice and used some approach that won't work with Macs.
Still, if I have to be here, it's a good hospital to be in.
