Not really. I write for myself, not anyone else, although obviously I'd LIKE other people to enjoy reading the stuff as that means I'll get paid for doing it. I therefore focus on writing what I want to see happen, not thinking about the reactions of other people TO it. If I thought about that, I'd never write anything.

I write for myself.

Then of course the characters take over and I end up writing for them. I know common complaint.

I also write for the adrenaline surge. Which of course means I end up pacing with too much energy to sit down and write.
