Christopher Reeve, who redefined the role of the Man of Steel to the point that he successfully eclipsed all those who came before him and became the one to whom all other pretenders have been compared, has died of heart failure (apparently related to an infection). He maintained his dignity and presence even after becoming crippled in an accident that could have killed him, and has been an inspiration in his professional and personal life to millions.

I salute him. The world is poorer for his passing.

Agreed, much poorer. Having grown up with George Reeves interpretation, Christopher Reeve did indeed re-interpret Superman for me. His shows in that role will be difficult to fill.

yeah it's a big :-(

I fondly remember the first couple of superman movies and being wowed by them as a kid (similar as to how I was wowed by star wars). It is a strange feeling to have the chapter in my life closed.

I helped quadreplegics for a while, I know what they go through. He lived his later years with honor.
