Went into work today, not feeling great but there was work that had to be done.

By noon I felt utterly exhausted. I went home and Kathy told me to take my coughing self to the ER since the doctor's office closes early on Friday.

Memorial Hospital's ER department is stellar, and I arrived at a slow time. I was literally called into triage before they finished putting the tracking band on my wrist.

One X-ray later and some listening confirms: I have pneumonia.

So three pills of prednisone, cough suppressant, new antibiotic, two breathing treatments later, and I'm out.

Out of the ER, and out of work until next Friday, by doctor's order.

ARG!

I wonder if you got it from reading the entries about my recent bout with the disease. Gives a whole new dimension to "social networking."

Take it easy. It's really all you can do until this damn thing goes away.

I hope you start feeling better soon. Try to rest as much as you can.

A get well present is on the way.

Okay, ever since I got ordained in the Universal Life Church (just call me Rev G), I've been wanting to do this on Live Journal.

Touch the keyboard, please, while I touch mine. Ready?

Be HEALED!

Let me know if you're feeling any better, eh?

I'm very glad you got that seen to. 'Walking pneumonia' can kill people stone dead, and (g) you owe me another novel in the "Boundary" universe. At LEAST.
Do the darn resting, even if you start to feel better. Think of it as your job until the doctor says otherwise. Take all your pills. Live long and prosper.
Many years ago I had strep and I listened to much of the LOTR audio book while I was laid out flat. It flows very well as spoken word. (Not even 'for a long book,' it flows well period.) Just a suggestion.
Live long and prosper. Or else.

So you couldn't just do a summer cold?

It's a holiday week coming up, whatever clients won't be doing much anyway, half the people in the US will take vacation days... so honestly, you don't have to feel guilty about that. Suckitude is high, of course... sigh.

Something else... When you're sick a lot, it drags down your reserves of certain nutrients. A, D, and all the B's, for instance, and especially with respiratory illnesses. You might want to see about that. Also, I'm sure you know that Vicks Vaporub, and chai with all the spices, are good stuff.

Get well soon! And thanks for writing Grand Central Arena, which has cheered me up muchly!
