That would be most shows, in general. Especially any so-called "comedies", nearly all of which that I've seen are almost totally cringeworthy and not funny.

The number of TV shows I watch, in general, would not average to one per year, and usually I start watching a show at least a couple years after it starts because it takes that long for me to hear the right "buzz" from people who matter (i.e., friends and/or acquaintances whose taste usually parallels my own).

I like some of Food Network & HGTV, I'll also add in This Old House. Other that I catch a movie on HBO fairly often but when the 10$ promotions ends I'm gone on that. Umm, I torrent the BBC feed of F1 as getting Speed just for that is not cost effective. I agree on the cringeness of most TV but at age 60 I'm not in a market demo networks are interested in.

For one per year, is that episode, or series? I mean, if you only watched Dr. Who one year that could end up being more TV than most people watch in a year...

It means that on average I don't find one show per year interesting. Yes, sometimes this results in me having a bonanza of watching (Babylon 5, for instance, I got to consume in multi-episode marathons). It also results in some years I'm watching nothing new at all.

I ended up getting noise-cancelling headphones because the kids all love sitcoms and I can't stand them.
