The saga continues!

But in this case, I'm not even really going to need a cut. My reaction is, er, what? My understanding of "slice-of-life" is basically mundane anime following ordinary life events, or at most it'd be ordinary life events happening to strange people (e.g., if "Harry Potter" didn't involve Voldemort but just was Harry growing up in a wizarding academy it might be a slice-of-life story). And I can't offhand think of any such anime that I've seen and watched more than a small part of, so my answer is... none, as far as I know.

Subject to change if I suddenly have a revelation.

EDIT: I had a revelation!

Yes, there's one slice-of-life anime I've watched and enjoyed: the bizarre Koko Wa Greenwood (Here is Greenwood), the story of a young man , Kazuya, at a boy's boarding school and his misadventures with the rather peculiar cast of characters who inhabit his dorm, starting with Shun (who looks enough like a girl to fool just about anyone -- what IS it about boys named "Shun" in anime, anyway?) and ending with the sadistically manipulative yet so cool people forgive him Shinobu. ("people" in this case doesn't include me; I detested Shinobu!). His misadventures range from dealing with his crush on his brother's wife to being trapped into one of the most peculiar school plays ever performed.

Something along the lines of Azu manga Daioh or School Rumble I suspect.

I loved 'Kokowa Greenwood'/'Here is Greenwood'. Fun school highjinks.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou -- the manga won the best SF manga Seiun award at the 2007 Worldcon -- is "slice of life", following the story of an immortal robot who is observing the slow decline of humanity after some undescribed calamity. Alternatively you can consider it as "Gun-toting lesbian robot bikers in a post-apocalyptic wasteland" which is also true.

Also second the recommendation for ARIA.

Seconded

See YKK. You must see YKK. If you cannot find it out there, drop me a line and I will see what I can do for you. And do read the manga. It has been scanned and translated, so you can find it out there with little effort.

Really.
