I need to catch up with these. So much time, so little to do -- wait a minute. Strike that. Reverse it.

No cut for this one, my answer's too quick.

I suppose I'd like to slap ALL of them for promoting certain habits/tropes that really annoy both me and Kathy, but that's not the question.

If I have to choose one, It's gotta be Gainax, for Evangelion. All of the studios have done something I don't like, but Eva's the giant dysfunctional thousand-pound gorilla in that room.

Being a big fan of Mechwarrior/Battletech, the studio I'd most like to slap, with a bat, is Harmony Gold, owner of the Robotech stuff.

I don't think that is entirely fair.

The original SDF Macross anime (the Japanese version) was released in 1982 which predated Battletech by approximately 2 years.

And as far as I know the Macross mecha were designed for the show by Shoji Kawamori, and the page for the VF-1 indicates that the release of the first 1/55 model in 1983 also predated the release of Battletech.

It isn't the Veritech fighters that are the issue, it is several others-- the one that comes to mind is whatever likeness the Warhammer from Battletech resembles.

Probably the Tomahawk, which appeared on screen in Macross no later than episode 6. This puts it in 1982.

The Zentraedi officers pod (aka the Marauder) appeared no later than episode 7.

SNAP! :)

Although rdmasters will probably chime in shortly with a slightly more... energetic suggestion for dealing with GAINAX. :)

Ah, a cue.

Very well, I will oblige.

As I said to [livejournal.com profile] arcadiagt5, there is nothing wrong with Gainax that cannot be solved with the application of near-c impactors. Lots of them. Repeatedly. Down to bedrock. And then do it again, just to be sure.

I'm not an anime fan (although I enjoy it when I watch it). Usually, you can follow something of an episode even when you don't actually watch the series.

I've never seen more than a few eps of Evangelion and none of those made the slightest bit of sense whatsoever.
