Update. Still not dead. Still not King.

Not sure if it's viral or bacterial at this point, but since this has been ongoing for two weeks they gave me zithromax just to make sure to kill anything that might be developing.

Some chills, some hot flashes, so probably minor fever spikes. Plus pain all over.

Hopefully this will start to abate by tomorrow. I cannot **AFFORD** to be out of work this much.

I hope that "afford" is used in the non-literal sense of "there are time-sensitive projects that I need to be working on", and not in the literal sense of "I'm not getting paid while I'm sick".

Well, it's "there are time sensitive projects", plus "I have to make up missed hours somehow, and in the holiday season and with writing contracted to get done I really can't go in on Saturdays to make them up, and I'm running out of vacation hours to spend. And I wanted to have the Friday after Thanksgiving off."

(I only get 2 weeks vacation per year and I've already spent a bunch of that)

The next time I hear an American* say something good about the labour laws where they live will be the first.

* My wife is from California, so I harbour no prejudice against Americans. The U.S. approach to employment is just poisonously bad.

I work for a small company. Large companies or the governments can afford (though some do not) to offer nice benefits. Small ones... can't, in general.

Dang, and I've had the gall to complain about feeling "a little under the weather" today. Feeling slighty bobbleheaded is nothing compared to what you've described.

Hope you get to feeling better soon, in the meantime, chicken soup, hot, plenty of it with homemade noodles. It might not have medicinal value but any excuse for chicken soup with homemade noodles is a good one.

Heh. I'm actually not much of a soup guy. My wife makes great soups and the kids all love them but they don't do much for me.
