Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] othercat !

* Reply to this post with ICON ME! and I will pick five of your icons.
* Make a post (including this info) and talk about the icons I chose.
* Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
* This will create a never ending cycle of icon glee...

The icons Othercat designated, and my explanation/discussion, below the cut:

Alex Lifeson, Neil Peart, and Geddy Lee, of Rush, from  their landmark album 2112. The Rush from this era through, roughly, Signals was IMCGO the greatest rock band ever. However, their inclusion here is a reference to my writing and gaming world, because the Lifeson, the Writer, and the Speaker make up the pantheon called The Triad on Zarathan.

Polychrome, daughter of the Rainbow in the faerie world that includes the Marvelous Land of Oz; this version of her I got from someone named "Saesama"; I'm not sure  if Saesama actually made the icon or just found it somewhere. In any case, Polychrome is my absolute favorite Oz character and was, in fact, my first real crush, before I ever understood the term. All of my Polychrome icons were chosen for use during my writing and posting of my Oz-based novel Polychrome: A Romantic Fantasy, mostly to my beta-reading group (but part of the novel was posted up here for the last PSTPWD.

This icon is a modified version of an image for the character Son Goku from the PS1 videogame "Saiyuki: The Journey West". It represents the Hyperion Son Wu Kung (basically the same character) in my Arenaverse, and I used it when I was posting chapters of the first draft of a sequel to Grand Central Arena which had Wu Kung as a significant character.

By Mary Dell, this is her vision of Dr. Simon Sandrisson, one of the three main characters in Grand Central Arena; I used it for marking chapters from his viewpoint, and sometimes for discussions of Arena physics/behavior.

The second form of the dread kaiju Destoroyah ("Destroyer"), from Gojira Tai Destoroyah. This is one of the major influences on the basic design of the xenomisoic alien species, the Molothos, in Grand Central Arena.
