Thirty Days of Fanfic Meme!

Blame jeriendhal  for this. I'll be following one day behind, basically.

1 – How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?


That would be Star Trek. (The Only Series, as jeriendhal  says). I wrote a couple of Trekfics in my early high school years. What, exactly, they were about, I don't remember clearly, except that at least one of them featured a fairly classic Mary Sue (or Marty Stu) character. Another I don't recall having any original character as mains, just the regular triumvirate, but I can't remember much of the plot, if any.  I'd written some other stuff INSPIRED by other people's works, but no actual fanfic that I can recall prior to that point.

Hmm... first writing fanfic blends so hard into "playing" for me, probably why I grew out of it and grew up to be a larper. I would write fic in my head/play playground games of my Disney movies from my earliest memories. Not just would they be full of Sueish OCs, they would be crazy Pokemon/Digimon/Cardcaptors/Sailor Moon/Jackie Chan Adventures/X-Men crossovers. Sometimes the biblical Abraham and Sarah would help Aladdin fight werewolves under the direction of Albert Einstein and Marie Curie (and they were all Power Rangers). I started actually writing stuff down in junior high or so.
