I had the thought that he should take a snapshot of Zoe for the nanites while he was standing there. So I was absolutely thrilled that he did do that and snuck them back to 4U city to her. That was incredibly clever how he played himself. :)

I have actually been mostly just tolerating the 4U City stuff (seemed to be dragging on and on), but the payoff may have been worth it.

Really? The parts I don't like is when he goes back to the goofy not-much-happening gags. If the strip had started and STAYED that way it'd be one thing,but once you start being serious you need to mostly stick with it. I see Sluggy as rather like Dragonball/DBZ that way; you can keep some goofy aspects in your bizarre universe, but you can't go back to the gag-a-day carefree stuff once you've admitted more serious material into play.

I don't mind the gags and I usually like a lot of the serious storylines, but I just haven't been enjoying the 4U City stuff specifically. Maybe it's just a little too dark for me, or too far removed from the characters' origins. It definitely hasn't been engaging me as much and I'm hoping they are back to the "real" world to stay.

I think that as of Friday we will be fully back to the Sluggy Prime timeline. With Riff now being aware of potential futures.

I felt 4U was going a little long but ... I also felt the payoff was well worth it even the length. I also felt the same way about the BunBun lost in time segment. Again it paid off and turned out to be well worth it. And because the last time he made a side trip like this paid off so well I was willing to wait and see how 4U City paid out.

So because of this I'm willing to go along on these side trips he likes to take from time to time.
