Albacon CANCELLED???

First Genericon decides they don't want me as a guest any more. Now Albacon, the only remaining local convention, notifies me that this year's con is cancelled!

  This sucks. I now have no local conventions I can show the flag at, so to speak. Nor do I have the time, money, and energy to devote to starting one.

At least they gave a month's warning so they can notify everyone. I was already skipping Albacon again (last time I missed was 2001) due to another commitment.

Back slowly away from the idea of running or sponsoring a con. Keep backing up. Further .... now run!

Seriously, con-running is a huge time-suck, especially at the exec level.
