Do the "Donate" thing in your LJ?

That is, how do I set up a little button that will let people send money to my PayPal account?  (no, I'm not going begging for money right now, but I will be asking for donations for someone else)

(note that I've only used paypal to pay for things, never someone sending me money, so I'm not even sure how to do *that*.)

You can save the picture then set up the link to their paypal account as the link the picture takes you to when you click on it.

There are instructions somewhere on Paypal, but I forget where.

You can try checking the link on this page for an example of a donate "button" using Paypal's supplied code.

When you set up at Paypal to receive money, they give you a snippet of html code you can post anywhere. I never had any trouble putting that bit of code up at LJ. LJ didn't care that I got it from Paypal.

I've seen it have problems, actually but it's VERY rare and only happens with poorly written sites.

If you want to be informal about it, you can just give the Paypal email name you can accept money under and leave it at that.
