... but she can -- on her ANKLE!

Yep, yesterday she went walking up our driveway, twisted her ankle, and X-rays today show that she has in fact broken part of the anklebone. Whee.

Ouch. I recommend the forearm grip crutches, rather than the underarm ones. I gave the ones I used when I had a broken foot to Rob.

ok, this is my final offer: styrofoam peanut-ing and entire suite for her. with foam-covered everything, and giant foam mats on the floor and walls to absorb impact. lock her in there and visit once in a while... maybe bring books or chocolate... :-p

OMG ouch! I thought I was bad, but you guys need more bubble-wrap in your life. I hope her ankle heals well and completely. As an expert regarding ankle -sprains- the advice 'do not stress the ankle' cannot be said often enough. Therapy to strengthen the muscles during healing, yes - staying off it until healing is complete - double-yes.
