seawasp: Klaus Wulfenbach discovering that the Heterodyne Heir has left his castle. (Everything's On Fire)

Or something like that was what I screamed as I got to the bottom of the stairs and either badly sprained or broke my ankle. I'm not sure which yet, though I'm inclining (hopefully) to the "sprained". I DID feel the whole joint pop out and pop back in. Still shaky. Ouchies. Probably more ouchies later.  Always ouchies later.

I really DO NOT WANT people copying what I did on Wednesday morning!

(Am walking around the flat, like an 80-year-old. Considering venturing out tomorrow. aaagh.)

Ouch, I'll hope for sprained rather than broken.

Same. I'm trying to bend the laws of retroactive probability to make it a sprain. You're icing it, yeah?

Yipe! I've stood on my ankle bone before - not fun at all!

RICE! it - take ibufrophin [if you can] for the swelling, stay off your feet as much as you can and heal - heal like the wind!

Sprained an ankle once - took 4 weeks to heal.
Dislocated a knee once - took 4 months to heal.
Broke my wrist twice (five years apart) - took 6 weeks both times.

The dislocation was the hardest to recover from by far. Your description sounded sorta dislocatey, as Buffy might have said. Best hope for a sprain.

Seawasp... BE HEALED! (Good thoughts, anyway!)

Ow! Speaking as someone who has sprained both ankles in the past (at different times, thank goodness), go get it x-rayed and if it's sprained let them wrap it. And if you have to use crutches, I recommend the forearm grip ones -- I gave mine to Rob Fenelon, you can ask him for a second opinion.

I hope you heal quickly and feel better soon.

Ouch

That is very not-good, best wishes to a fast and relatively pain-free recovery.
