Some of you out there will remember this early-90s cartoon. I remember it well.

But there's a mystery in my memory of Mighty Max-related stuff.

I clearly remember parts of an adventure that Max went on, which I *think* was in comic-book form, but I'm not sure. It doesn't appear to be any of the actual episodes (alas, the show has never been released on DVD).

What I remember of the show is that Max somehow finds himself in an underground bunker, which belongs to a man who became convinced nuclear war was going to happen and sealed himself in the bunker sometime during the Cold War. The man's obviously more than a bit unbalanced and paranoid, while at the same time behaving like a somewhat... *off* version of Ward Cleaver from Leave It to Beaver.

What I recall most clearly was the point at which the man's Red-scare paranoia finally came to the front, and he says to Max:

"But... your name isn't really Max... or Billy, or Bobby, or even Joey... is it, *IVAN*?"

Anyone else recall this? Where was it from?

I'd never heard of the series, but a quick Google search brought up the basics. The voice actor list is pretty amazing.

I remember Mighty Max. My oldest son LOVED it so we watched it and had tons of toys!
