Jan Howard Finder ("Wombat")

seawasp I just received word on the LASTSFA list that Jan Howard Finder, known to fans for decades as "Wombat", has just died -- either of his cancer, or complications from the most recent chemotherapy he received.
I personally will miss his presence at conventions -- and at my readings, for he attended all of them -- greatly. He was a gentleman, a wonderful speaker, and always filled with positive energy and encouragement.
He was also a HUGE Tolkien fan.
So may he at last have fond the Uttermost West.
