seawasp... in Chapter 4 of Castaway Planet, the Kimei family has to find a place they might be able to get to safely. Meanwhile, in Chapter 45 of Paradigms Lost, we find out why Verne's been so ill (and incidentally one of the reasons this story couldn't be set today but had to be some years back)...
